Why do students plagiarism?

The word plagiarism comes from the latin word Plagiaries, which means "kidnapper". Plagiarism occurs when you take someone else’s ideas or words and try to pass them off as your own original work. In its worst form this happens when someone is stuck for ideas and lifts a passage from a textbook, hoping that the use of this ‘borrowed’ material will not be noticed.

Students plagiarize with a numbers of reasons such as difficult in finding and analyzing research materials. Unfortunately, a small number of students plagiarize out of laziness or surrender to the mistaken notion that "buying" a paper is not any different than paying for an education. Some students are too lazy to think and write an assignment themselves. They prefer to copy someone or simply rewrite one’s essay. These students then lose their creativity. They depend too much on other’s ideas. It is hard for them to create a new idea. Plagiarism will make students lazy, lose their potential talent. Therefore, learning how to plan your research and writing assignments reduces a lot of the pressure that can foster plagiarism.
